Squad Policy

We love to have fun at Swim Squad, and we like our Policies to be clear, and fair.

What ages and abilities do you cater for?

Swim Squad Singapore offers a quality, niche service and our Coaches are highly experienced with those swimmers aged 7 years and above who are able to swim unassisted in the water. There will be times when we do jump in to help demonstrate or assist with a new skill, but we don’t currently have a Junior Learn to Swim Program. We are always looking at ways to enhance our offering, so connect with us on Facebook to keep updated or if you are interested in joining as a Coach!

What locations do you cover?

We would love to be everywhere, but unfortunately that would stretch us too thin. We currently offer lessons in Private Pools and Condos in the vicinity of River Valley, Orchard, Tanglin, Novena/Newton and Holland Village areas.

What do I have to do before our first lesson?

We will be in touch to gather important information such as medical / injury concerns and to go over how you would like us to help. It is important that you speak with your Management / Security to ensure that we are allowed to coach at your Condo and to obtain information about their Weather Policy. Our policy is below, but some Condos and Private Pools may have their own rules – please let us know of these prior to commencement.

Please note that if we get denied access by Management / Security then the full cost of the class will be charged.

What should I bring to my lesson?

Firstly, and most importantly – yourself! A pair of goggles can also help you be a better swimmer and any other items you may have in your swimming kit. Don’t stress about going out and buying anything, our coaches will make some suggestions after a few lessons as to what may be a wise investment.

Can I cancel / reschedule?

Life does sometimes get in the way and we understand the occasional reschedule is required. We appreciate 48 hours notice and no fee is charged. A cancellation with less than 24 hours notice will result in a 100% forfeit of the class cost as this spot would have been secured for you or another swimmer. This cost will be waived if you have a medical certificate for that day for yourself or your child.

If you are a repeat rescheduler we cannot continue to guarantee the allotted time slot and can work towards other days and times that are more appropriate for you.

WEATHER POLICY

At Swim Squad, we don’t let a little bit of rain get in the way of having fun.  Coaches will use their discretion and so long as it is safe to do so, the lesson will go ahead as scheduled. We use the NEA website and Mobile/Watch App which gets up to date data from the Meteorological Service of Singapore. We have alerts set up for the Condos and Pools that we coach at for both Electrical Storms and Heavy Rainfall so you’re in safe hands!

The coach will contact you prior to class to cancel any lesson due to bad weather.

For electrical storms, if your pool does not have a lightning rod/monitor, our coaches will use the NEA Lightning website to determine the outcome of the class if this is in agreement with your Condo/Pool guidelines.

In the event of a thunderstorm if class has not yet started and your Coach is at the pool, we ask that you wait in a safe, sheltered location for 10 minutes to see if the storm will pass.  In the event that it doesn’t we will reschedule your lesson.

If class has started and passed the 30-minute mark, we will consider this a completed class.  If there is a safe, sheltered area to conduct dry land exercises or stretches, our coaches will be happy to walk through this for the remainder of the time.

If class has started and not yet passed the half way mark, we will offer a half-class credit, which can be used to offset the cost of a full class.
